My dear Friend,
Your letter of January 20 reached me in time. You know that our J.S.C. Examination is very near at hand. I’d been very much engaged in my studies. For this reason, I couldn’t reply to your sweet letter earlier. I hope that you won’t mind anything for this unintentional delay.
I’m glad to let you know that I’ve worked out all the sums of the books. I’ve solved the test papers twice. I hope I’ll be able to score full marks in Mathematics. I’ll do fairly well in both papers of science. Bengali isn’t a problem. The first paper on the subject is lengthy. I’ll have to be swift. I’m a bit weak in English. I’ve tried my best to make up for any deficiencies in this subject. According to your suggestions. I’d been under the guidance of Mr. Sultan Ahmed for three months. He is simply a very good teacher. In this short period, he’s taught me many things. Now I can easily express my ideas in simple and correct English. As regards the textbook I’ve read all the lessons thoroughly. I’m confident that no question will be uncommon to me. I have earnt the Cloze tests with clauses and without clues won’t be problems. I expect a good division in the examination.
